Membership 101

by ICC Staff

The Indigenous Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is Manitoba’s premier voice for Indigenous business. Our mission is to help facilitate the growth of Indigenous businesses and foster meaningful connections between both Indigenous and non-Indigenous entrepreneurs. At the heart of this mission is our flagship offering: the ICC membership program.

Accessible Membership for Every Stage of Growth

Membership is open to all individuals, consultancies, businesses, non-profits, students, and allied organizations. With tiered pricing –– from an annual $150 Individual Membership to enterprise levels exceeding $5,300 –– the ICC ensures accessibility for organizations at every stage of growth. No matter the size, every member plays a role in advancing Indigenous economic growth and cultural understanding.

The benefits of membership are as diverse as the members themselves. The ICC provides a powerful networking platform through workshops, social gatherings, and mixers that foster relationships grounded in reconciliation. Members enjoy discounted admission to marquee events like the annual Luncheon and Gala and professional forums, as well as access to exclusive training programs.

Among these training programs, include webinars, seminars, and workshops covering topics such as Indigenous business strategy, cultural competency, governance, and sustainability. Membership also opens doors to leadership opportunities, whether through board positions or committee work, allowing members to help shape policies and initiatives.

As part of a collective voice for advocacy, members join the ICC in championing policies that support Indigenous business development and equitable economic opportunity. The ICC also helps members amplify their visibility through website listings, social media features, sponsorship options, and referrals within its network.

Weekly newsletters keep members informed with updates on government policy, business developments, events, and new opportunities. Members also have the opportunity to be featured in our weekly newsletter, providing widespread coverage to our subscribers and followers.

A unique benefit is access to the ICC’s group insurance plan, offered in partnership with Johnston Group, which provides specialized health, dental, disability, and culturally tailored coverage.

Amplifying Indigenous Business Through Innovation and Partnership

One of the most significant recent initiatives available to members is the Indigenous Business Directory (IBD), launched last September. This verified publicly accessible directory lists businesses with at least 51% Indigenous ownership, once confirmed through our rigorous documentation process.

The IBD gives members a trusted platform to be discovered by governments, corporations, NGOs, and investors, while also advancing inclusive procurement and elevating Indigenous entrepreneurs.

Joining the ICC is about more than just accessing business tools, it’s an investment in cultural resilience and reconciliation. The ICC stands for community and partnership, bridging cultural traditions with the modern economy. By becoming a member, individuals and organizations position themselves at the heart of Manitoba’s economic future, contributing to advocacy, influence, and shared prosperity. Join us today!
