Youth Growth Project

The Indigenous Chamber of Commerce’ s (ICC) mission is to grow the Indigenous economy by strengthening member success through networking, education, leadership and advocacy. Through funding provided by the Indigenous Business Development Services, the Indigenous Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the creation of Oskayah Ahkikiw Anokaajigan.

Statistics show that Indigenous youth are the fastest growing demographic in our city and province. ICC, as a business focused organization believes that Indigenous youth are a key factor in the future economy of our city, province, and Indigenous communities, which has led to the creation of the Indigenous Chamber of Commerce Indigenous youth mentorship program (Oskayah Ahkikiw Anokaajigan).

Oskayah Ahkikiw Anokaajigan translates from Plains Cree, Michif and Ojibwe to "Youth (Cree) Growth (Michif) Project (Ojibwe)".
Through this project,  the ICC will support seven (7) Indigenous youth on their entrepreneurial journey by providing opportunities to access ICC’s vast network, along with learning and networking opportunities; in addition to being matched with an ICC member mentor.

Participants will engage in meaningful conversations with their mentors on areas of concern, to learn and enhance their skills throughout the year long program.
They will participate in ICC events, building their network and make meaningful personal, professional and spiritual connections.
