Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of a work plan.
- Conduct research relate to Indigenous business economy.
- Assist in identifying and sharing the number of Indigenous businesses and the revenue that is generated in Winnipeg and Manitoba.
- Assist in gathering input from Indigenous businesses as to the dollars they spend to purchase service and goods for their individual businesses.
- Help in the development of a communications strategy to share and create awareness about the positive impact Indigenous businesses are having on our local and provincial economy.
- Work in collaboration with other team members to align activities for better outcomes and synergies.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Indigenous-owned businesses
- Research experience
- Excellent report writing skills and typing speed
- Team player
- Must be an Indigenous youth (aged 18-30)
- Must be a student currently attending the University of Winnipeg
- Must be of Indigenous descent (First Nation, Metis, or Inuit)
